A way to remain active without joining a gym
Strength is independence.
Strength isn't measured by a barbell. It's measured by everyday life. Standing up without using your hands. Climbing stairs with confidence. Carrying groceries. Walking farther. Catching yourself after a stumble. Keeping up with the people you love. Living independently—in your own home—for years to come.
THE DIFFERENCE
Progressive strength training. Backed by research.
Decades of research have shown that older adults can safely become significantly stronger through progressive resistance training—including individuals in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s. When properly supervised, strength training can improve muscle strength, balance, mobility, confidence, and even bone health.
Too often, exercise for older adults stays comfortable instead of becoming progressively challenging. While movement is important, meaningful improvements in strength require gradually increasing the demand over time.
That's the difference at Six20 At Home.
We bring real equipment—adjustable dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, steps, and balance tools—directly to your home. Every program is individualized. Every exercise progresses at your pace. The goal isn't to lift the heaviest weight possible; it's to help you become stronger than you were last month.
Because getting stronger is what makes getting out of a chair easier. Walking farther possible. Stairs less intimidating. And independence more likely to last.
MORE THAN EXERCISE
See your progress, not just feel it.
Every month, you'll receive a personalized Six20 Independence Score—a simple, one-page report that objectively measures the things that matter most for staying active and independent.
Chair stands. Walking endurance. Balance. Confidence. Falls and near-falls. Instead of wondering if you're getting stronger, you'll be able to see your progress month after month.
It's a simple way to celebrate improvements, identify areas that need more attention, and ensure your program continues moving you forward.

FAQs
-
No. Six20 At Home is a private-pay wellness and fitness coaching service led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. It is not physical therapy and not home health. We will not diagnose, treat medical conditions, or replace skilled rehabilitation. We build strength, balance, and independence in the home.
-
No. This is a private-pay service. That's intentional — it lets the program focus on what actually helps long-term independence rather than what insurance will pay for in a given visit.
-
Most families notice changes in confidence and daily ease within the first 4–6 weeks. Measurable strength and balance gains typically show up in the second monthly Independence Score report. Real change takes consistency — that's why we measure every month.

Six20 At Home serves Hutchinson, Kansas and the surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether you're in our service area, just reach out and we'll let you know.
-
Yes — at a level that's appropriate for you, and as you’re ready for it. "Weights" might start as a 5-pound dumbbell used to stand up from a chair, or a light kettlebell held while practicing balance. For a stronger client, it might progress to a real goblet squat or a deadlift off a low platform. Every session is supervised one-on-one, every load is intentional, and progression is evaluated for appropriateness. This is the part most senior strength programs miss and it's the part that actually rebuilds strength.
-
Yes. Weekly plans are just that, week-to-week with no long-term commitment. If the service stops being the right fit, you can cancel anytime.
